We need your materials!

The Society welcomes any information/artefacts/photographs/documents regarding the parish for its growing archive collection. It also welcomes enquiries and endeavours to respond to all contact promptly and helpfully.

The committee of Clyne Heritage Society meets monthly to discuss all projects, activities and relevant matters. Ongoing activities in which the general membership, or indeed, anyone, can become involved are:

Kilfeddermore Smiddy Rescue Excavation - 2009

The Society proposes to undertake a rescue archaeological excavation on the site of the ruins of the Smiddy's house at Kilfeddermore, in Strath Brora, which is beginning to be completely eroded away by the River Brora.

Clynekirkton Graveyard

This project involves vegetation clearance and general tidying of our beautiful historic, disused graveyard on the first Sunday of each month from April to September.

The Archive

On the first Thursday of each month, we meet in the Brora Public Library to catalogue the Society’s possessions.

Hunter’s Woollen Mill

Machinery salvage project. This took place as a result of the Society discovering many old machines from the former woollen mill in the building which was being demolished, following the building of new premises on the southern outskirts of Brora.

The Brora Salt Pans

The Brora Salt Pans project, involving recording and excavating the old salt pans exposed on the coast which are under severe threat of erosion by the sea.
